Hi! Welcome to Work from Home Mums Guide.com web site, my name is John. I am an online marketer, and I want to share with you my story of how I got started online.
My initial introduction to the Internet and the online world came when I decided to build my first computer system from ready made components. I had visited a local computer store in my area in Canberra, Australia, back in 2001, and seen a really fine computer that a technically savvy computer whiz store owner had put together.
I was really interested in the custom made model that he had put together using really fine performance hardware components, but I couldn’t afford to buy it.
So instead, I decided to bootstrap the computer to save money.
I started buying parts, and eventually had all of the hardware to build the computer. I spent months putting it together, and when the moment of truth came…
… it would not fire up and start.
Long story short, I braved up and visited my local computer store whiz, and I paid him to check my computer project out, to see what I did not see, and ultimately get the thing running like it should.
In the end, I had spent as much as I would have spent to just buy the computer from him, and it also cost me months of time. But i did learn a great deal from the process, and i am less intimated by the inside working hardware of a computer.
Online marketing is much the same. You can spend months bootstrapping a system together, wasting your time and effort and not making any money in return.
Or…you can fall into the many traps of “to good to be true Information marketers”…. OR discover something reliable, genuine that works for you. It really is a mine field out there, with so many information marketers making money selling stuff, they sell a lot of stuff that may only work for a very few of their clients.
Another reason for not making money online is that the learning curve is so steep, that people fall off backwards onto their butt, and they were already flat broke before they got started, and it just seems too difficult to grasp all of the movable variables of an online business.
There are many systems, plug in widgets and training you need to get up and running quickly…
… and generating a return on your investment.
